The service and its operator
The Sound Lab is operated by TSL Holdings FZCO, United Arab Emirates. Its legal address is Palm Jumeirah Road, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. Its legal representative is Konstantinos Dimitrakopoulos.
For privacy requests or questions about these notices, contact hi@the-soundlab.com.
These terms cover The Sound Lab’s Daily, articles and reviews, YouTube library, TSL answers! and community forum, including the member functions available on the site. They do not describe a shop, equipment sales contract or paid membership.
Editorial independence and judgment
The Sound Lab publishes listening experience, analysis and opinion. Equipment, rooms, recordings and preferences differ; a review is a considered perspective, not a guarantee that another system or listener will produce the same result.
Industry relationships can make auditions and evaluation possible. They do not confer editorial approval or a right to determine conclusions. TSL’s stated approach is unsponsored, with no affiliate links, payments or free equipment received from those relationships.
Check compatibility, specifications and safe installation with the appropriate manufacturer or qualified professional before acting on technical suggestions. Editorial discussion is not a substitute for safe electrical work or equipment-specific instructions. Please report factual errors with the relevant link and supporting detail.
Accounts and participation
Use an account you are authorised to control, provide a usable email and keep sign-in details private. Do not impersonate another person or organisation, misrepresent your experience or attempt to access another member’s account.
Submitting a question places it into the available question workflow; it does not guarantee selection, publication, a personal reply or a response time. TSL may combine related questions or direct a discussion to the forum where appropriate.
Community membership and newsletter enrollment are separate. A newsletter is requested only through its own enrollment choice. Editions are sent only to confirmed requests, and every message carries an unsubscribe link.
A useful place to disagree
- Discuss the equipment, evidence and listening experience. Challenge ideas without personal abuse, threats, harassment or discrimination.
- Describe first-hand experience accurately. Distinguish what you own, have heard or measured from a view based on someone else’s account.
- Respect privacy and intellectual property. Do not post private personal information, confidential material or content you have no right to share.
- Disclose a relevant professional or commercial connection when recommending or discussing a business or product.
- Do not post deceptive promotions, spam, malicious links, unlawful material or instructions intended to compromise systems or accounts.
Your contributions remain yours
You retain ownership of the original material you contribute. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit it.
By submitting a contribution, you give TSL a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce, format, display and moderate it as needed to operate the relevant question or community feature. This permission does not transfer ownership or grant a separate right to sell your contribution or use it in advertising.
Formatting and moderation should preserve the meaning of a legitimate contribution. Use beyond the service function described above requires a separate permission or other lawful basis. Removal and deletion requests remain subject to applicable rights and the storage limits explained in the Privacy notice.
Moderation, reports and review
TSL may withhold, edit, move or remove a contribution, or restrict an account, where reasonably necessary to address a rule violation, protect people or the service, or meet a legal obligation. Community posts express their contributors’ views; publication does not make them TSL’s editorial position.
To report a concern or ask for review of a moderation decision, email hi@the-soundlab.com with the page link, the material or decision concerned and a short explanation. Do not include more personal information than is necessary. The service does not provide continuous moderation or an emergency reporting service.
Content rights and external services
TSL’s original editorial, identity and site assets remain the property of their respective rights holders. Sharing a page link is welcome. Other reproduction must have permission or fall within a use allowed by applicable law. Product names and third-party marks identify their respective owners and do not, by themselves, imply endorsement.
Playing a YouTube embed uses YouTube API Services and is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service (opens in a new tab). Google’s processing is described in its Google Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab). See how optional players work. Other linked sites are responsible for their own content and practices.
Availability and legal rights
Content and functions may be corrected, updated or temporarily unavailable. The service is not a commitment to a particular publication schedule, response time or permanent feature set.
These terms and the related notices are governed by the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the DIFC Courts, including its Small Claims Tribunal where the claim qualifies. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts any liability, consumer protection, privacy right or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under the law that applies to you.
Material changes will be reflected in an updated version. Changes to future participation rules do not retrospectively grant new rights over a member’s existing contributions.
